About the FEAR award
At FEAR, we understand just how important it is to recognise achievements! … That’s why we’ve introduced the FEAR Award
Award criteria: An adult, or child (who receives artificial nutrition or IV treatments), who has achieved something which is an achievement to them! No matter how big or small that may be- every achievement deserves to be recognised!
How to nominate? Simply fill in the form below, and at the end of the month we will announce the recipient!
Terms and conditions
The Trustees will review the nominations each month
All nominees will receive a certificate. One nominee each month will receive an award.
The awards will be announced at the end of each month (29th-31st)
The closing date for each month is the 25th. Nominations after this date will be transferred to the following month.

Previous FEAR Award recipients
August 2023: Karen - for conquering her FEAR of flying and getting in the sea while on Holiday!
September 2023: Paul - for adjusting to life on full-time TPN in less than 9 months!
October 2023: Arley - for smashing his personal bests in swimming and for diving off of the start block!
December 2023: Molly - for attending all our FEAR events this year! Learning to swim, giving climbing, sailing and canoeing a go and for growing in confidence!
January 2024: Niamh - for taking part in her very first mini triathlon recently and showing great sportsmanship!
February 2024: Alex - for no longer needing to be attached to oxygen during the day and for thriving on his new PEG!
March 2024: Fran- For conquering her nerves and returning to figure skating! Fran didn’t think it would be possible… but she made it possible and is now loving it!
April 2024: JJ - For becoming more and more independent in a range of tasks, and for getting the public bus regularly to School (on his own!). Huge progress in independence and confidence!
May 2024: Percy - For being the bravest little man there is! Percy received a lot of nominations this month, and I can see why! Percy has been in and out of Hospital his entire life but has never stopped smiling!
June 2024: Harry - For smashing is FEAR and learning to sit-ski! For gaining confidence on the slope and independently controlling his ski!
July 2024: Grayson - For being incredibly brave during a long hospital admission while having a trachy inserted!
August 2024: Freddie - For being incredibly resilient and for smashing his FEAR of MRI scans! Huge well done Freddie, your family are immensely proud of you, and so is everyone at FEAR!
September 2024: Darren - For smashing his FEAR and stepping out of his comfort zone in order to compete in a National Jui Jitsu competition… Darren even came first!! Absolutely amazing! Darren also raised enough to sponsor a FEAR Drysuit which will make a big difference to FEAR for many years to come.
January 2025: Logan-Ann - For being extremely brave during her recent operation. You’re a tough cookie! Well done Logan-Ann
February 2025: (A double award month) Rheagan and Ellis - For being TV superstars on CBeebies Something Special show.
