… Provides comfort and confidence for both adults and children living with chronic and/or life limiting conditions
I’m sure we all once had a favourite soft toy, and can remember how much it helped us when we were feeling upset or scared… Well, FEAR Bears were created for exactly that! They’re very special bears which help both children and adults, deal with the difficult times that come with living with chronic and life-limiting conditions.
Do you know an adult, or child, who needs a FEAR Bear?- We now ask for a donation towards the posting and packaging costs (£8)
Why a teddy bear?
We’ve recently researched the impact bears have on our lives, and why Teddies, can be particularly influential and positively support Children with medical conditions.
After researching into the psychology deeper, we found that there are actually many benefits to having a teddy:
They provide emotional comfort and companionship
They help Children cope with the unknown around their illness/condition
Soothe Fear and Anxiety
They help us to forget about our worries.
Sleeping with a Bear brings a sense of security and reduces negative feelings, such as loneliness and anxiety
It provides calmness and a sense of not being alone
Children like to give their bears a name and create a whole persona for them. In turn, they help to stimulate and develop their imagination.
They help Hospital staff form relationships with Children. Using a Child’s bear to communicate with them, is a natural method that can facilitate establishing a relationship.
